Swine flu: current situation in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, April 30 | The recent outbreak of a new form of influenza called "swine flu" which originated in Mexico has now spread to a number of other countries, including the United States, Canada, Spain and New Zealand.
We are currently monitoring the situation carefully but, at this moment, life is continuing as normal in Playa del Carmen, despite what official sourses (see links, below) are saying. The school is still open, and classes are taking place as per normal.
As you would in any case, you should contract health insurance before you travel and consult a doctor immediately if you have signs of flu-like symptoms.
We will be updating this information as soon and as regularly as possible. If you would like an up-to-the-minute update on the situation in Playa del Carmen, contact us by the usual methods.

Here in Playa del Carmen everything has been great. Although there has been a lot of hysteria in the news, things seem very chill here. I have started to see more people wearing facial mask but I have not heard of anyone getting sick.

Hier in Playa del Carmen merkt man nichts von der schweinegrippe , nur das was eben im fernsehen gebracht wird und was wir aus Europa hóren. Wir gehen normal zur schule niemand ist krank. Zur sicherheit warden desinfektionstúcher aufgestellt aber sonst láuft hier alles normal. Ich persónlich habe keine Angst und fúhle mich wohlhier.

Bonjour tous lemonde!! Je crois que Playa del Carmen n’est pas touchen pave l’epidemie de la grippe porcine. Cette situation est plus Dans la Ville de México City. Les journalistes exagére énoumement la situation mais, ici le mexique prend la situation en main. On prend nos precaution en lavant nos main souwent et en evitant d’embrassen les étangers. Il riya auare personne, áceque je sache, affecten ici a Playa del Carmen. Les Gems portent des masque mais je crois que ceriest que de la prévention

Meinung zur schweinegrippe in México. Hier in Playa del Carmen spúnt man nichts von der grippe. Es ist nichts passient und uns geht es allen sehr gut. Wir kónnen den aufenthalt trotzdem sehr geniessen, am wochenende ausflúge machen, einkanfen und das schóne wetter am strand geniessen. Man muss sich kaine ernsthaften sorgen machen

Aquí en Playa del Carmen la gripe porcina aún no ha sido aprobada! Estamos todo el tiempo vigilantes e informados por la escuela de cómo protegernos! No hay pánico y todo aquí está tranquilo! Bisjetzt no es necesario que se preocupe!

Hola,
Me gustaría comentar que aquí en Playa del carmen se está viviendo la situación de una manera más tranquila comparado con otros lugares. Somos muy conscientes de la seriedad de la situación, a la que tenemos que dar seguimiento, estar al corriente de lo que pasa , de las noticias y reportes de las autoridades mexicanas.
En la escuela está a la mano de todos información detallada y actualizada y estamos tomando las medidas de precaución que indican las autoridades mexicanas.
Por el momento, entendemos que no se han reportado casos en Quintana Roo.Esperemos que todo se regularice pronto y termine este brote de gripe porcina. Saludos Marta
