Al Cielo Hotel (www.alcielohotel.com) is a very quaint, beachfront, boutique hotel on the secluded and peaceful beach of Xpu-Ha in the heart of Mexico’s Riviera Maya. It’s location is about 20 minutes south of Playa del Carmen and 20 minutes north of Tulum.
This is truly an amazing and charming place: as you travel down the dirt path from the freeway to get there, your senses are overwhelmed as soon as you step out onto the beachfront property. First you are met with this gorgeous, dark hardwood structure on the beach with a palapa roof and as you follow the stairs up to the restaurant and reception, there is a view that will take your breath away. On the pristine white sand in front of this hotel, you will find private palapa areas with comfortable beds to lounge on and sunbathe, enjoy your lunch, whatever your heart desires.
Note that with only four rooms, if you plan to stay, reservations are a must. There are some occasions however, when you can get lucky, stop by and find one available. Each room is named after one of the four earthly elements: Water, Air, Earth and Fire and are rustic but very stylish and comfortable. It’s perfect for a peaceful, luxury weekend getaway and the staff provide you with exceptional individual attention as well.
There’s also Al Cielo Restaurant, famous for its fine dining and breathtaking setting, serving fresh seafood, local and international dishes. Enjoy a delicious meal from the restaurant or at your beachside paradise.
A highly recommended visit.
